We’re getting closer and closer to festival season, and this May is shaping up to be a busy one. Whatever your music taste, there’s an event on the calendar that you’ll love.
Cheltenham Jazz Festival
When: 1-6 May
Where: Montpellier Gardens, Cheltenham
What: With its trademark mix of international jazz icons and developing new talent, Cheltenham has become one of the UK’s most-loved jazz festivals. Along with the music, it’s also family friendly and packed with different food and drink stalls – a great place to spend your Bank Holiday weekend.

Where: Liverpool Baltic Triangle
What: Sound City captures the vibrancy of Liverpool with a 3-day festival that sees established names perform alongside a constant stream of local, national and international emerging talent. The festival is filled with music, creative workshops and a renowned music industry conference.

Bristol Folk Festival
When: 3-5 May
Where: Bristol Folk House, St Stephen’s Church and St George’s Concert Hall
What: Spread over 3 days, Bristol Folk Festival will see performances from up to 40 acts, as well as Morris dancers, mummers and maypoles, ceilidhs, workshops, singalong sessions and a market.

The Great Escape
When: 9-11 May
Where: Brighton City Centre
What: The Great Escape is arguably the best festival for discovering new music, showcasing 450 up-and-coming artists from everywhere around the world in venues across Brighton. There’s also a convention alongside the music, featuring panel discussions, keynote speeches, topical debates and plenty of networking opportunities with music industry professionals.
